The sixth release in the Plannosaurus brand — a line that lets you “know” dinosaurs through hand-built models — is the Cretaceous heavy tank Ankylosaurus. The Skeletal Build mode lets you study the dinosaur’s internal structure, and the Dinosaur Build mode adds outer-skin parts over the skeleton in a plastic-model-only style that restores the creature’s living form.
No nippers, glue, or other tools are required, so assembly stays approachable. The signature armor that covers the body references the closely related ankylosaurids to recreate the plate sequence pattern, and the hammer-like club at the tail’s tip — thought to have been able to crush a Tyrannosaurus’s shin bone — is faithfully reproduced. The robust, gap-free Ankylosaurus skull is also expressed accurately, and the mouth, forelimbs, hindlimbs, and neck are all articulated for posing on the included base.
